I think this expresses my sentiment wrt Metallica as well... Although I first heard the Black album (almost constantly as a matter of fact, for about three months) it was their SnM performance that got me to check out their early stuff... and to say I was blown away would be an understatement...

A moment of epiphany is when Orion plays on your headphones at 2AM...

Its such atmospheric music played with so much aggression that it just leaves you dumbfounded...

And then St Anger just leaves you dumbfounded on the other end of the spectrum... Just the trials associated with being a 'tallica follower I guess
